Bee Boost is a prebiotic and vitamin supplement. Use it by mixing in with sugar & water. This formula helps to feed good gut bacteria and gives a vitamin and protein boost to sugar syrup.
To feed individual hives, add ½ scoop (5 ml /1 teaspoon/3 grams) per litre of sugar syrup. Stir until completely dissolved. To make bulk syrup, add 2⁄3 cup (150 ml) to 30 litres syrup. To boost weak hives, add 2 scoops (20 ml) per litre sugar syrup and trickle 60-80 ml between frames with bees weekly for three weeks. Apply drench only above 20°C. Feed syrup to hives to encourage build up or to keep hives strong during dearth.
Sold in 350 g packages and makes approximately 100 litres of syrup.
NOTE: Syrup concentration doesn’t matter, but the lighter the syrup (the less sugar in it) the quicker the syrup will naturally ferment. Only feed as much syrup as the bees will take up in three days. Read about making sugar syrup here.
